Semi Tennessee was recored in Nashville, TN with producer Shawn Byrne of Great Hill Productions. The tracking sessions went from an idea for a single or two to a 5 song EP release.

The band sessions were recorded at the Owl Studio with Shawn producing and playing upright bass and also feature:

Joe Spivey - Violin ( John Anderson’s Seminole Wind and member of the Time Jumpers,) Pete Finney - Steel Guitar (Mike Nesmith of the Monkees and Patty Loveless,) John McTigue III - Drums - (Emmylou Harris, Hank Williams III, Raul Malo of the Mavericks etc.)

The EP dives a bit more into Johanesen’s love of Western Swing. Fans of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys, Asleep at the Wheel, Lyle Lovett, Dale Watson, etc might appreciate the sonic approach on this record.
