ABOUT THE VENUE Troll Music has been a landmark in the Venice musical community for over 30 years. Realizing a dream of creating a music store where the local music community can come for quality products, great musical advice, high-level instruction and repairs. Troll’s first location was in a small storefront under the Venice Avenue Bridge, making the name choice of “Troll Music” an obvious one. Today we are prominently located at 628 E. Venice Avenue. Along with the Music retail store and lesson facilities, the new location also includes a performance venue supporting songwriters, live bands, guitar clinics etc.
ABOUT THE SONGWRITERS
Wendy Kaneko - is a passionate singer/songwriter who writes and performs songs collected from her colorful life.Her voice is the instrument that carries her words and poetry right to the heart! Wendy moved to Florida 10 years ago for the sun and gorgeous beaches. Eric Ramsey - Winner of the International Blues Challenge as well as the Memphis Cigar Box Guitar Award for the outstanding guitarist in the Solo/Duo Category. He's a three time Champion of the Phoenix Blues Society's Blues Showdown, a two time Finalist at the Telluride Blues Challenge. He's a Winner of the Stefan George Memorial Songwriting Contest sponsored by the Tucson Folk Festival, Winner of the Peoples' Choice Award at the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival, a Finalist in the Al Johnson Songwriting Competition, and has been tapped for the prestigious Songwriter's Showcase produced by Tempe Center for the Arts, filmed for PBS distribution. Dean Johanesen - Circus Swing & American Roots Music - Originally from Long Island, NY, currently residing in Sarasota FL, Dean is a songwriter and guitarist inspired by historical fiction, speakeasy era Americana and the sounds of Hot Club Jazz, Western Swing and American Roots Music in the vein of Django Reinhardt, Bob Wills… & Lyle Lovett.
